Landon “Landycakes” Donovan

Landon scores a goal and assisted on David Beckham’s goal in the 2-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.  Way to go Landycakes!

I am as shocked as anyone that Landon actually scored a real goal and not another penalty kick goal.  Its been a long time coming.  USA soccer thinks Landon is USA’s best player because he makes a lot of penalty kicks.  Since they will never bench him, then he had better start doing this A LOT more often or the USA will suck once again in the next World Cup. 

The MLS’s top 20 players from Yahoo Sports is  just disgusting.  They are idiots.  Landon is #11 and Taylor Twellman is not even in the top 20.    You score 0 goals except on penalty kicks and you are the 11th best player in MLS.  What is wrong with this?

Landycakes’ 48th minute penalty kick last Saturday night made him the United States’ leading goal scorer, with 35 in 97 games.  Damn, Landycakes must be good.

In reality, our best player Landycakes scored another penalty kick goal.  Yay for the USA!   I cannot remember the last time he actually scored a real goal (non penalty kick goal). 

Quote from espn.com about last night’s game.  “Thankfully, we didn’t lose, but clearly we wanted to win,” Landon Donovan said. “The run we went on was amazing, but at the end of the day, we were in a really big hole. We’ve needed help along the whole way.”

Landycakes did have an assist on the goal by Troy Roberts.  Of course, no goals for Landycakes, our country’s best player.    On a sidenote, Beckham is back.  This may give people a reason to watch on TV or actually attend a game. 

It was reported last week on ESPN.com that Landon “Landycakes”  Donovan had captured the Honda Award as U.S. soccer player of the year in a landslide vote making him the only 4-time winner of this award!    WTF ??  Are you kidding me?   Who votes for this award and more specifically, which idiots voted for Landycakes over American players starring overseas like Tim Howard, Carlos Bocanegra, and Clint Dempsey ?

Donovan is the most overrated player on the planet.  The L.A. Galaxy pays this guy $1 million a year to play horrible soccer year after year.   Besides Vanna White of “Wheel of Fortune”, who else has an easier job making $1 million per year?  Why couldn’t I be so lucky.

Landycakes is captain of the U.S. national soccer team.  What the hell is wrong with U.S. Soccer you ask?  What has Landycakes done on the pitch to deserve the role as captain.   The captain of your national team should be a stronger leader and more importantly, one of the better players from your country.  Landycakes is neither of these.  I recently heard a stat that Landycakes has not scored a non-penalty goal in competition in 2 years.   Lets not forget Landycakes’ attempt to make it for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.  After a few worthless months, he was back in the worthless MLS.  Why can’t the “best” American player not make it in Europe?  That is ridiculous!!!  Its obvious he is not that good!   When is US Soccer going to finally give up and stop hyping up horrible players like Landycakes and start contending for World Cups?

Landycakes, congratulations on winning this award and for another great scoreless season in MLS!
